The installation 3615 Love is dedicated to telematic art. On the basis of the reconstruction of telematic materialities (videotex, Minitel network, etc.) and the works of Jacques-Elie Chabert and Camille Philibert (L’Objet perdu, 1985), Eduardo Kac (Videotext Poems, 1985-1986), Marie Molins (QR Code, 2018) 3615 Love shows how fragile and vulnerable our digital environment – and a fortiori its artistic productions – is.
Formed around artworks of the 1980s, the installation combines recent achievements, showing that a technical medium never really dies. Dependent on the reconstruction of old artworks and their materialities (hardware, software, network…), the installation is a work in progress.Developed since 2014, 3615 Love was shown at Cerisy-la-Salle, Amsterdam, Paris and Aix-en-Provence and will be on display in Ljubljana (June 29-July 5, 2020) at osmo/za, accompanied by a moderated public debate on telematic art and media archaeology of Minitel and videotex.
